An educational trip is an off-campus learning activity that brought excitement and adventure in learning. A well–planned educational trip is an ideal way to introduce new skills and concepts to the children. For the same, we had planned a Field trip to Sheran Fun Park in Theni on February 10, 2017 for Kindergarten students; accompanied by their teachers. 150 students from Kindergarten participated. Sheran Fun Park which is located 4km away from Theni town. The visualization of ‘Aqua –Cave’ made the students to get more information about 100 rare varieties of fishes, sea species, and helped them to gain adequate knowledge of aquatic animals. Children were enjoyed in play area. Boating also added another joyful memory for the kids riding with their friends. Children were filled with some exotic enjoyment of seeing different kinds of birds too. The trip was thoroughly a great fun, and a good learning experience.
The juvenile lively Spice Vallians – the grade IV to VIII students along with the Principal, Club Incharge and the mentors went on a trekking expedition to Kombuthuki, amid of Kurankani Hills which is 20 kms away from Bodinayakanur on December 10, 2016; with a great fortitude and zeal. It is an exclusive fortified of the highest hills for tea plantation in the world at an altitude close to 8,000 feet. The energetic trekkers started from the school around 9.30 am After a short break the team lined up for the fulfilled adventurous walk over the steep mountain hills of Kurankani. A herd of the cattle added more adventure to the trekkers- a fear and fun filled adventure. While trekking; the students journey visualized the valley as a greenish pavement of the hill and they were crossing the river gave an ice coating aura. Students had been given trekking – Activity sheet for finding new kind of plants and it’s leafs structure for learning outcome of producing herbarium. The pride in the faces was sensitized as they reached the destination. In the same day the down trip to the foot hills was even more adventurous on the way back they stepped into the Parasivam temple. After they worshipped the Lord Siva, the long tiring day wounded up with lots of cherishable adventurous memories.
